One deranged man brings sorrow to all the world. For most, the lucky ones, it’s petty inconvenience. Scarcity and local inflation. Global economic chaos. For unlucky thousands, it’s senseless terrible pain and death.
One deranged man brings sorrow to all the world. No one anywhere I’ve seen shows the besieged country and its citizens at fault. No one explains why the aggressor is justified in its wanton invasion of a neighboring nation.
It happened before. We did not learn. We still do not believe or recognize. One man’s lust for dominion deprives humanity of its humanity.
One deranged man brings sorrow to the world.
Six world leaders haven’t courage to end it. What could be worse? Spontaneous extinction in world war, leaving stars to blink alone eternally or years of global misery?
Pay attention, world leaders: this deranged man cannot be shamed or embarrassed into change. Diplomacy will not convince him to give up what he has been about virtually unchallenged so far. While we waste time in pointless, cowardly diplomacy, he makes solid his gains. Diplomacy did not work with the deranged man before. It will not work now.
Pay attention world leaders: embargoes will not convince this man of his wrongdoing. It is not he who suffers. Hardships are assumed by the people of his nation, the soldiers sent to fight their cultural brothers and citizens at home sacrificing for the conduct of war.
Here at home, we cannot declare when life begins but it seems within our power and desire to dictate when life ends. Seems we do not understand life. We cannot punish the petty insane man who murders ten or twelve or twenty people with gunfire or automobile. Instead, we concern ourselves with his rights and safety. We have not learned how to subdue one deranged man when it is our business alone.
Globally, we cannot see our crooked leaders, strip them of their offices, finances, and freedoms. Punish them for their sins and genuine suffering they cause. Rather, we protect, even align with them. We have not learned to eliminate corrupt leaders – we allow them to legislate themselves special treatment knowing they will abuse that power. How can we cancel the efforts of one deranged man?
Six world leaders, capable sovereign nations, eight billion people have not the voice or valor to correct this one deranged man. We do not see the problem is more than we care to understand. Perhaps it is not a matter of one deranged man bringing sorrow to all the world.
Bravo! You’ve said many truths in this interesting, albeit unusual, narrative about the invasion of Ukraine by Putin, of course, the deranged man. Smashing good my friend!
