Whoopie! – August 7, 2022

queued 7/25/2022

Yahoo! Scheduling this to post two weeks from now, I’ve got two weeks to focus on writing “stuff” and maybe sending one or two pieces off to publishers.

Fourteen days! Free to work on pieces exceeding 300 words.  Clean-up that novella. Consider once again talking to the editor/agent about making the novel ready for a pitch.

Well, and doing chores outside, and shuffling furniture from room to room, and running-down parts, and [precedence has been established] painting.

No.  As you read this, it is the last of the scheduled posts.

Fun time is already over. Nertz.

Retired career IT software engineer, or as we were called in the old days, programmer, it's time to empty my file cabinet of all the "creative" writing accumulated over the years - toss most of it, salvage and publish what is worthwhile.

    1. Amigo. See my response to Bumper. You paint. I write. It is for both of us a compulsion, it is how we breathe. I will break away when the work becomes onerous. Writing, whether published or blogged or idling in an electronic folder is my therapy, my sanity. Some might question that last bit – “sanity.”

      1. They always question our sanity as writers, painters, whatever, and they may be right. I just had the impression, from your post, that you were going to concentrate on writing projects for publication and that you would take a holiday from WP. I am glad you are not.

      2. I will be less dependable (once the queued posts are gone). I will, when spare minutes and quiet sneak up on me, write for other dissemination. What I manage to blog will mostly be unimportant “for breakfast I had waffles and blueberries and my puppy Boscoe shit in my shoes” kinds of things.

    1. Most of the major rehab is done. $$ parts and labor. One major project that can be deferred to spring. I am left with interior painting, which I will do entirely by myself, between now (it is underway) and (hopefully) Hallowe’en. I have special dispensation from my keepers allowing me the use of ladders. Amazing how when it suits their purpose they can look aside for the breaking of {probably well-advised) edicts. I looked at what is queued and see almost two weeks’ work scheduled.

      1. Tis. Isn’t. It’s my priorities against others’. I didn’t want to be retired. Now that I am and know what I want as my focus, it is denied for differing definitions of “retired.” I will survive. My curmudgeonry will improve in the process. Close you weekend carefully, Bumper.
