Or – Pennysworth Philosophies
Nickel Philosophy presented itself as a better title for this ragtag collection to replace Pennysworth Philosophies, while I worked [spwilcenwrites] “Short and Sweet – May 3, 2021.” Whether filed under Pennysworth or Nickel, they are similar. But “Pennysworth,” Really? Owing to inflation…
Like Calipers, Blades, and Mallets, they are bits of life advice. As a rule they are less somber, often flippant. They appear less to have first been considered by the likes of a mountaintop mystic, more by a court jester. Each leads you to look for one ending, then splashes water in your face with something off the wall.
On second thought, they aren’t so “off-the-wall.”

Wise Counsel
Remember that you are your own best advisor. Be aware however, that at times, especially for certain topics, your advice lacks luster. In those times, seek second and third opinions.

Counsel Numerically
Always seek outside counseling from more than one advisor but never in even numbers. This keeps you from weighing-in with your own opinion in cases of ties.

Graduation Day
Learning ends not
When we close our eyes,
When we close our minds,
When we become teachers,
When we think ourselves educated,
When our ears ignore other voices,
When new ideas are smothered,
When our heart no longer cares, or
When another commands it cease.
Learning ends
When we draw our last conscious breath.

Once in a while I amaze myself. Not often. I can aspire to be as good a yarn-spinner as Mr. Strawn; striving for the unreachable makes one improve even falling short of a goal.
