Came upon a place of wizardry,
A curious place where wizards be.
Fancied that I’d wizard some,
Or a wizard I’d become.
At least I’d learn to cast a spell
If there ‘mongst wizards I could dwell.
In this wond’rous wizard land,
Were countless wizards grand.
Just a few a bit less though,
Then a few much less so.
Some, would wizards never be,
In this land of wizardry.
Some wizards there were dark of heart.
When evil spells they thought to start,
They stirred in peaceful magic chants,
And so excused their awful rants.
Thus, rarely did a wizard leave
The land of wizard make-believe.
To wizard land, the wizzen came.
These wizzen said, ‘We know this game.’
Hardly wizards, the wizzen thought,
To change the rules to what they sought.
It seemed there would some changes be
To this the land of wizardry.
Old wizards craving new some faces,
Sat wizzen down in wizard’s places.
A clear mistake all then denied,
With wizzen safely tucked inside.
The wizzen scanned the rules then chose
The ones they liked and only those.
Heard the wizzen speak as one
‘Wizards, here’s how things will run:
In your grounds let wizzen play;
From our grounds, you’ll stay away!’
How wise but foolish wizards be,
In this new land of wizardry.
Hardly fair these mandates bold,
Turned some wizards’ fervor cold.
Wizards are not wizards easily.
Understand their claim to regency.
One can’t just stand in wizards’ land
Then claim to be a wizard grand.
When wizzen voiced a whiney pout,
Some older wizards were cast out;
Old sage wizards walked away;
Reticent ones had less to say.
Was less a place one wants to be,
Once lost the land’s old wizardry.
Never fear for wizzen’s care,
Some old wizards still are there.
Wizards with old wizard’s skills
To spare the wizzen from the ills
Of this wizzen insanity
That works to obscure wizardry.
I think to leave this wizards’ home,
Where I no longer carefree roam.
For the changes wizzen brought,
Few admit what that hath wrought.
There’s but brief pleasure left for me
With this new brand of wizardry.
